From the moment Kaori inquired I knew this wedding was going to be a dream. Not only was every details so well planned and perfectly designed, but the venue, the Liljestrand House is unlike any other venue I’ve ever shot at. Nestled high above the hills of Honolulu, on Tantalus Drive is the most amazing 1950’s Mid Century Mansion, the Liljestrand House. The vintage, mid century style of the house fit so perfectly with Kaori and Ben’s bohemian themed intimate wedding, and the result was absolutely dreamy!

Kaori, originally from Japan, and Ben, originally from Australia, met in Perth, Australia when Kaori moved there for school. They fell in love and never looked back. When deciding where they wanted their wedding celebration to be held, Hawaii was a no brainer for them. Kaori fell in love with Hawaii while visiting as a little girl with her family, so she had always dreamed of saying “I Do” somewhere on the island.

Their wedding was one of the most breathtaking and fun days I’ve witnessed yet. They both held back tears as they said their vows to each other, with an incredible view of the city behind them. Kaori danced with her bridesmaids when I started playing “Single Ladies” during their bridal party photos, making everyone around laugh even harder. They even had dear friends play “Love Story” by Taylor Swift during their reception, while everyone watched wide eyed. The usual rainy Hawaiian winter held off the bad weather, and as the sun dipped below the horizon Kaori and Ben with their closest friends and family celebrated the night away.
