As some of you may or may not know in 2014 I worked at Disney World as apart of the Disney College Program. While there I met a vivacious girl who was my roomie, who also became one of my greatest friends, Jordan. So a few years later when she met the love of her life (whose name you’ve probably realised by now is also Jordan, but I’m going to call him J in this post), got engaged, and booked me for her wedding I did a crazy happy dance in my kitchen. Getting the opportunity to photograph couples in love will always make me dance in my kitchen, but especially when they are such dear friends of mine. Then a few nights later she messaged me saying she wanted to do her engagement pictures back in the happiest place on earth, Disney World. I dropped my phone. This one deserved a happy dance through the whole neighborhood. That same night our plane tickets were booked, and when Valentines Day 2017 rolled around, I was on a plane for Orlando to meet these two same-named lovers for a magical rendezvous at Disney.
What I loved about Jordan & J was their willingness to roll with any crazy idea I threw at them, as well as collaborate creatively together to capture their personalities and styles authentically. I brought some clown noses from home, and when I pulled them out asking if they wanted to do some photos with them on, they didn’t even blink twice. They threw them on and began to play. J even sent me some music videos they loved as inspiration before the shoot. He shared this video by the 1975 with me and I LOVED it. Watch it and see if you see any elements of their shoot in it!
I’m breaking their session into 2 parts because we did so many different locations. Part 1 showcases our set at the Boardwalk Hotel and the Grand Floridian Resort. Be on the lookout tomorrow for Part 2 where we frolic ALL over Magic Kingdom!
