Lindsey Roman Photography: Best of 2018

Wow. 2018. Where do I even begin. I looked back at my Best of 2017 blog post and this is what I had to say about 2017.

“2017 was a year of extreme growth. It’s the year I finally found my editing style, started focusing purely on adventurous destination weddings and elopements, and the first (and definitely not the last) time I transitioned my business from one state to another.”

If 2017 was the year of growth expansion for my business, then 2018 was the year it skyrocketed and exploded beyond my wildest dreams. It was the year so many of my photos got published and one went MEGA viral (thank you Kutchers ;P). It was the year my travel schedule truly looked like a band on tour, and while it was pretty overwhelming, it was also a dream come true to be an actual legit destination wedding photographer. 2018 was the year my social media presence quite literally quadrupled itself, the year I expanded my business to include teaching and hosting workshops with my best friend at The Heart Workshop, the year I hit 6 figures, and the year I stopped apologizing for who I wasn’t and fully owning myself, my brand, and my business.

In 2018 my business took me to places like the Seattle, the Oregon Coast, Malibu, Texas, Colorado, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, London, Scotland, Greece, Italy, Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island. Not to mention I shot so many incredible couples right here at home in Oahu, Hawaii. It was the year I photographed my first 400 person wedding (on my birthday no less ;P) which ended up being my favorite wedding I’ve shot ever (you know the gothic enchanted freaking dream I’m talking about and if you don’t just go ahead and click to see that magic right HERE.) Another standout was an UNREAL suprise (even to me) proposal that happened on a rooftop overlooking the MAGICAL Lake Como, Italy. I photographed a total of 15 weddings, 7 elopements, a whopping 58 couple sessions (my favveeee), hired on an associate shooter midway through the year who shot 6 couple sessions for me, and hosted 3 different photography workshops all of which sold out in minutes. PHEW. WHAT. A. YEAR.

Thinking back through 2018 brings me to actual tears. I feel so blessed by all the couples who invested in me, people who chose to followed me, beautiful stories I photographed, ridiculously enchanting places I visited, and new incredible friends I met. I put together a compilation of all my personal favorite images and moments from 2018, and WOWZA looking through all of these photos makes me more emotional than I can even express.

I said this in my 2017 review blog post, and I’m gonna say it again. If 2018 was THAT good… what the HECK does 2019 even have in store? I. CAN’T. WAIT.
