I’m always SO honored when I get the opportunity to photograph other photographers. Such was the case when Amanda reached out to me to photograph her and Brandon’s anniversary trip to Hawaii! Amanda runs her own successful photography business in Atlanta – check her work out HERE!) while Brandon plays drums for musicians in Atlanta and Nashville.

When Amanda reached out she said her and Brandon wanted to read each other letters on top of a mountain, kind of like a mini vow renewal to recharge and remind each other of the promises they made on their wedding day. I LOVED the idea, and immediately thought of a hike on Oahu that would be perfect. For the particular hike I was thinking of, I knew sunrise would be the best lighting. Amanda was all on board. Brandon took a bit more convincing. 😉

But the morning of our session he showed up in the pitch black morning ready to be a team player. The three of us hiked to the top of the mountain lookout, and as the sun started to rise, Brandon and Amanda read to each other sweet promises of their marriage.

And dang it, the session only got better from there. After nearly bawling my eyes out hearing them read each other their letters, we continued shooting alongside the mountain edge. These two lovebirds were so into each other, and I LOVED it. Their physical chemistry mixed with the view and the sunrise… makes this session some of my most proudest work I’ve ever created. I hope you enjoy it as much I do. 🙂
