The Review That Made Me Cry

My favorite thing in the world is serving my couples so well that they feel like we’ve been life long friends. My heart is to capture love stories in a way that when my couples look back on their photographs they can feel the emotions they were feeling at the time the photos were taken. I’d much rather be a friend to my couples than a traditional wedding vendor, because THAT is when the magic happens. That’s why I strive so hard to create a memorable experience during my sessions or weddings. Because I don’t want my clients looking back remembering the awkward, stiff poses I told them to do. UGH. Gross. I want my couples to remember our session as a time they felt SO connected to the one they love most. I intentionally strive to make my sessions fun and adventurous, because I care so much about the experience I give my clients.

That’s why when I read Evie’s review of her session with me I cried. Because she got it; she felt connected to the experience I offered. I photographed her and her boyfriend, Landon, on the coast of Mendocino in Northern California, and hearing her express her gratitude in her own words makes my heart swell up so big. Her words remind me EXACLTY why I’m in this. Not just for pretty pictures. Not for treating my couples like an assembly line of dollar signs rolling in. Nope.

I’m a photographer, a storyteller, a love documenter, to remind you to believe in the power of your love. To show you that your story matters, because it does. To capture your real, authentic, and raw relationship or marriage like I’ve witnessed it all along. My heart is that you show your engagement, wedding, or anniversary photos to your kids and grandchildren one day. That you share with them the actual photographs of the goosebumps, passionate kisses, the windblown adventures that make up your love story. My hope for you is that your grandchildren swoon and giggle over the goofy faces you made on a cliff when you were 22. My prayer is that when you show those photos of your legacy to your children and grandchildren, that not only would they be inspired to believe in that kind of love for themselves, but that they remind you why you fell in love with your best friend in the first place. Because YOUR story is so important, and the legacy you leave in this life is valuable. It should be documented and shared. And it would make my heart SO happy to be the one to tell it.

She knows how to make you instantly comfortable – as if you’ve been childhood friends through diapers, mud pies, awkward middle school dances, high school friend drama… and somehow she’s still by your side, but this time, she’s capturing your love story with the skill of a goddess.
